I used Photoshop 2021 the other day and it comes up with a message that it is no longer supported.
The latest versions of Photoshop probably don't have any new tools that would be of significant interest. They charge a lot for yearly subscriptions.
Does that mean you can cancel your subscription and still use PS 2021?
Anyone done something similar?
By comparison I paid for Pixinsght once years ago and they continue to send me links to the latest update for free.
Greg.

hi greg,
i thought i responded to this yesterday but obviously I didn't.
My understanding that CS6 is the last Photoshop Version that didn't require subscriptions. in my view gimp is an ok replacement - particularly if you are undertaking minor processing / touchups. however, gimp users are really waiting on v3.02 to come out with its non-destructive layers (nearly there.....) unfortunately it has taken a long time to port the program to gtk3 (under the hood improvements). May be worth waiting a bit longer before passing judgement. of course it is free so you can try it and see if it will meet your needs or not without wasting any $$. of course you will likely want to add a few plugins https://shotkit.com/gimp-plugins/ darktable or rawtherapee especially.
Cheers

Something my son just showed me on Steam:
"If buying isn't owning, pirating isn't stealing".
I like that!

Hi Greg,
There should be no issue whatsoever to continue to use Photoshop. If you bought it, it is yours as long as you have the registration key. I use CS-5 and it works great.

I purchased CS6 years ago. I switched to a new PC last week. Had the devil of a time installing CS6 though I had the original disk- as an aside had to buy an external dvd/cd reader because laptops these days don’t have them anymore- and serial number. However Adobe customer support were very helpful and helped me re install PS and touch wood it seems to be working .
BTW Affinity Photo is 50% off at the moment
