I don't know where I got this but some might find it useful. It is a simple calculator for obtaining the field of view knowing the sensor size and focal length of lens or telescope.
You can get it here. Just save it to your desktop.

It should ask do you want to open or save etc. just save to desktop it is only 20K. It has been checked for virus etc.

Works for me.

Houghy I suspect you may have some over active viral protection that prevents .exe files being left clicked. Try right clicking and "save as" to your drive.

Bert, .exe files are not the best way to distribute programs, try zipping it up to make it a bit more innocuous.

Here's a zipped Excel spreadsheet I did for ToUcam/ Mx7/ 350D CCD's it gives FOV and resolutions etc. May be of some interest.

This is the one I've been using, because as well as the FOV and image scale (FOV/pixel) calculations it also shows a view of how DSOs and planets will fit on your chosen CCD: http://www.newastro.com/newastro/book_new/camera_app.asp

Some software planetarium progs can do this (eg starry night). You just type in the chip dimension and your scope fl and it dispays a frame against the sky. useful for composing pics before taking them.

Here is one utility I found on my HD... sorry for being not fast enough :-)
Unzip both files in one subdirectory and run setup...
It contains data base with a number of CCD's...
