So over the last week I've collected enough gear to run an imaging setup again (heq5 ascom controlled, 50x168mm guidescope, asi120mm and some dew straps and controller). So this afternoon I made a super heavy duty mount to hold the camera and guidescope onto the heq5. Turned out pretty good, keen as for the first light tonight.
Looks like a winner
When using my HEQ5 I just limited my exposure time to below that of PE so that I don't have to worry about guiding. With an 85mm lens and my D7200 I probably wouldn't go over 120s but you should be fine for much longer with yours
Pretty happy with the mount and guiding. I didn't really fiddle with much, just did PA with sharpcap (which was awesome by the way, easiest PA ever) ran phd2 and got it to calibrate itself... There is a bit of backlash, but nothing a belt kit and adjusting the RA worm can't fix.
