H-a tonight

I hope!

Since the Moon really yakked out my images the last 2 nights, I am going to strap on (errr...attach) the H674 mono with the 2" 7nm H-alpha tonight and doing something wild and wooly...

So, I do 10 min subs colour. Should 30 min subs be a good starting point for 7nm images? Not sure I want to go 1 hr subs just at the moment

You should get reasonable results from shorter subs since you're at f/5, the pixels aren't tiny and the read noise is moderate, but if you can guide well enough then by all means go for 30 minute subs.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick.

Yeah, it guides well enough - I'll give it a crack!

(just for Suavi's sake, I turned off guiding to do the cal frames last night. 3 hrs of those later, and NGC55 was still centre of crosshairs in MaxIM I didn't bother with a guide graph though...pointless )
