Hi all,
I am telescopless (is that a word?) at the moment but still have a few shots from the some fabulous seeing nights back in October last year.

Archimedes (287-212BC) taken on 23 October 2023, named for the great thinker and scientific man of Syracuse who is best remembered for his "Eureka" moment when he supposedly ran naked from a bath house after he realised the displacement of water in his bath could explain what is now fluid dynamics.

Sinus Lunicus commemorates the impact of the Soviet probe, Luna 2 when it smashed into the surface on 13 September, 1959, becoming the first manmade object to do so and sending back the first information about the conditions en route to the moon.

Crater Aristillus named for another Greek astronomer of the third century BC. Aristillus was known for his highly accurate positional observations of stars.

Autolycus (360-290 BC) was a Greek astronomer and geometer who lived in the Ionian colonies of Greece on the Western shores of present day Turkey (Turkiye).

ZWO 178mm camera, Celestron 9.25" telescope. Approx. 2,000 frames stacked in Autostakkert!3 and sharpened in Registax.

Wow Richard that’s exception resolution, especially for just 9.25”!! Some gorgeous fine detail radiating from the crater rims, and heaps of craterlets. Super shot!

Thanks Dave. Still mining that incredible seeing back in October. It just goes to show how much the atmosphere rules image quality.
