Vale , Greg Quicke

Just read on the ABC news that the well known astronomy populariser and enthusiast from Broome has died , aged 62, from cancer. He did much to bring the joy of observing the universe to many tourists and locals no doubt. He will also be remembered for his appearance on the BBC / ABC series Stargazing Live.

Condolences to his family and friends.

He certainly seemed like a character and had a real passion for the night sky.
We nearly crossed paths at the ABC studios in Gore Hill but I was recovering from my own cancer treatment and had to decline the invitation...sadly Greg was not so fortunate.

I'd not heard of the gentleman until I watched a Bill Bailey tour of West Australia and he appeared in that.
62 is so young.
R.I.P. Sir.
