Fun with the Sun

What struct me about the 2023 Exmouth Hybrid Solar eclipse was the chromosphere.
The prominences were numerous, large and bright with nuanced colours.

But how did they compare to the view though a H-alpha filter?

So I got creative...and had I packed a H-alpha filter for the '23 eclipse and got
concurrent data....dare I say.... sub-zero cool.

The link is here

Might make a great wall poster!

Very nice creativity, extraordinary colours and detail in the proms and the plasma loops. Beyond cool.

But I am going to that link to look at it frequently, it looks amazing.
Thanks gents. I've not uploaded a particularly high quality or resolution .jpg
hence don't think the uploaded version will print up all that well....but you are welcome to do so for non-commercial use.

The original 4K .tiff image however looks great as an A3+ print (the biggest my Canon printer can handle)

.........
I use a Canon PRO10S a 10 cartridge Photo printer and Ilford Gallerie paper.

It does an excellent job but, wow, they sure make you pay for the ink.

Sadly ink is dearer than gold.
