Ovni nightvision

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of the Ovni-M or Ovni-B night vision eyepieces? Does anyone have one even?

I’d be been to know if they are as spectacular as the marketing says?

I’m thinking of one for my 28” SDM

I don't, but are they French speaking?

OVNI is French for UFO, it stands for Objet Volant Non Identifié. One of those rare cases where a literal translation works.

There surely must be at least one person in the whole of Australia who owns a pair of OVNI B?

It's interesting tec, I looked into them years back, but the military grade stuff wasn't readily available then. They do have a bit of an issue of halos, but certainly work. This new camera with built in ASI air would be absolutely awesome on your scope with images in live mode on your tablet!

Chris, Cloudy nights has extensive info in their NV section, including lots of posts by the OVNI rep.

Hi Jonathan,

His are you? Thanks for the links. I had no idea Televue were now making night vision accessories but there riser is interesting “….It is a major crime to ship or carry US manufactured Gen3 night vision devices outside the borders of the United States, punishable by fines and prison sentences. Ignorance of these regulations will not hold up in court. By purchasing night vision equipment from Tele Vue Optics, you attest that you will not attempt to export or carry this night vision equipment outside the borders of the United States. Also, it is illegal to allow a non-US Citizen to look through US Gen3 Night Vision Devices, even on US soi…..”

That one is out then but OVNI seem to be able to sell worldwide from France, but they are much more expensive. It is extremely intriguing. They say they have 600 customers in Australia but it seems that none read these posts.
