Light Boxes

I have just recently completed building myself a couple of light boxes and I am very pleased with the results. If anyone is interested in me building one for them, PM me and I can discuss price etc, one thing is for sure, they are going to be at least a third of the price of imported ones, and IMHO work just as well. The two attached images will give you some sort of idea of my construction. My method of construction allowes the light box to fit over the front of the telescope/dew shield, much like a cover so one does not need to balance it on the scope.
I use a 12v lighter type connector for the power, and each LED is rated at between 6000mcd and 12000mcd depending on the size of the box required.
If interested please feel free to ask any questions.

Received my lightbox today - what a beautiful job!

As I mentioned to Peter, I would have no chance of succesfully making something like this and after seeing it, definitely not to this level of craftmanship.

Can't recommend this enough enough!!

Just for information, I have now tested a box with a dimmer and it works pretty well in dimming evenly to about half maximum illumination. Should be ok for people experiencing problems with CCD cameras and exposure times for flats. I will post an image of the box I am building that is "dimmed" when I finish it.

Had to have a tumour removed from the base of the tongue. Never smoked in my life. Once the healing has finished then it is on to Radiation therapy My specialist says this is just as an insurance, and no Chemo indicated as being required.

Damn.
Life can go pear shaped pretty quick at times.
I'm glad though, they caught it early enough to keep treatment to a minimum.
Many positive thoughts are heading your way right now.

Pete,

Positive vibes being sent from my way, too. Here's to a speedy recovery, mate.

Also, once you're up for it, I'll be interested in a light box for my FSQ-106N. : )

H, could you just confirm the outside diameter of your dewshield. Apparently yours is a different model to Doug's FSQ

It is under construction H, weather been aweful here, and freezing in my shed/workshop. Not helped by having radiation therapy every day either.
