Hi all,
Here's my setup. It's an Intes MN61 6" Maksutov-Newtonian on a Losmandy G11 driven by an Astrometrics Skywalker II microstepper control system.
It doesn't get looked-through very often and is setup mainly for imaging with an SBIG ST10xe camera. There is a Synta 102mm f5 on there as well with a secondary SBIG ST5c guide camera and barlow for off-axis guiding.
Thanks Gary and Robby for the new toys. Losmandy GM-8 with StarMate remote controller. Currently carrying my Celestron 102 for autoguiding piggyback and OAGed prime focus (when the clouds clear). Gotta luv that black.
The next step in my evolving imaging setup. 80 ED Orion (imaging scope)piggybacked to the 102 (guidescope) on Losmandy GM-8. Step 3 is nearing completion. I'm waiting on the mounting bracket for the Meade 8" to go on the Losmandy. Then the Orion will go on the Meade and the system will be complete. (Apart from the Argo Narvis. Next year maybe)
I very much so need a better tripod but I haven't had the time to go out and buy one. It wobbles a little bit, but not so much that I can't look at the moon steadily or see some clusters and nebulas.
By the way, becuase I'm purchasing a 8" dob, does anyone have any pics of them next to one? I want to see how big they are. And how much is the Postage and Handling on an Andrew's one?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers

Can't help you with the dob's but i am sure someone can. Try hanging something from the centre of the tripod with a bit of weight to it, i have tried this in the past with very good results.
I know h0ughy, I know. Its a bit of a worry isn't it Suprisingly I'm still within acceptable weight limist for astrophotography.
I'll be changing the guiderings though. The ones I bought are hopeless. The adjustment screws are really loose in the thread. So much so that even when firmly tightened the Orion slips backwards when pointed in an upward direction (pretty useless hey) because the screws move and start to angle towards the back of the setup.
