New Mini Moon to be Captured by Earth

At the end of September a small asteroid will be Captured in Earths gravitational field and become a Mini-moon. It won't hang around for long, maybe 53 days.

Hi Glen,

Probably not so interesting for amateur astronomers other than academic interest.

A 10 metre asteroid far enough away only for a temporary capture?

Intuitively, that's probably going to be a good bit fainter than mag 20.

I note they didn't mention any projected brightness.
