Orion is back.

The joys of waking at 3am for work, l get a preview of what's to come in a month or so.
Orion was high in the sky this morning, l must leave the bino's out by the front door and allow an extra 10 mins before l leave, or simply drive faster

Yes indeed it’s beautiful isn’t it? I had some late night views of Mars last Friday and was admiring Orion rising at the same time right next door.

So 3:30am, outside, look up,WOW!

10x50 binoculars.

Orion just teasing me with its nebulosity and myriad of stars and details.

Move to the north with the naked eye and oh, what's that?
One, two, three, four, five , six, seven. Subaru!
Pleiades.
And that bright thing between both, get out the app, MARS! Woo Hoo, what a way to start the day.

With a late start tomorrow (0449) l might get out the ED72 for a look, I've never been able to spend much time on Mars, until now.
Happy Days.

Happy days indeed Rod! I'm glad you are enjoying the incredible sights of astronomy. That section of sky with Orion, Taurus, Canis Major and now Mars is spectacular!
