Sbig ac455

It has taken a while, but the IMX455 is now available
with a very high performance SBIG back-end.

Datasheet here

Not cheap...but the specs are very impressive.

I think I'm going to need a faster car and a get away driver!
I very nearly scored a used unit some years back, missed it by this much....
WOW, 61MP, that's going to blow the Nikon sensored thing out of the water with it's paltry 45.xMP sensor.
They didn't list the price, they don't want people going into cardiac arrest I'm guessing?
As they say, if you have to ask you can't afford it. I'm always in that boat but one day.........

The fibre optics and/or 10Gbps connection is going to make for some serious data capture without the usual USB pipeline congestion, very impressive.

The price is $US9,999.00 Indeed, not for casual hobbyist!

I am finding the seamless integration with SBIG's ecosystem (which I already have). very tempting...
Autoguider, AO and CFW with downloads in 0.25 of a second...could open up
a new era of high resolution imaging using a combination of deep sky with lucky imaging.

My hope is the $AUD will get up to into the 70-80 cent mark.
Would definitely pull the trigger at that point

I'm hoping for you and everyone here who is so privileged to see your stunning images the dollar goes even higher, wouldn't parity be nice (never going to happen again in my life time I'm guessing) but some years back it made for some great deals/buying power as well as having some Aussie acquaintances who holidayed in the US while it was affordable.

You do all of the hard work and I'm sure I wouldn't be out of bounds stating many members here appreciate the beauty and consistently high standards of your images (above just high standards, they are all amazing) .
