The CWAS astrofest and what is Australia's most prestigious astrophotographic contest the CWAS David Malin awards is on again in Parkes on at the end of this month.
The head judge is Dr David Malin AM: a national treasure who has received awards from The Royal Society, The American Astronomical Society (amongst many, many others) for his pioneering colour astronomical imaging, has written ten books and over 250 academic papers.
The overall prize is decided by Dr Malin, along with all winning category images (vetted by a panel of the most awarded astrophotographers in Australia) will be displayed in a travelling astrophotographic exhibition that will tour the country.
The exhibition, seen by over 2 million visitors since 2004, will open at the CSIRO 64 metre radio telescope visitor centre on September 29th. Hope to see you there!
